The death occurred at the Palliative Care Unit at Western Hospital, Alberton PE, on June 20, 2026 of William "Wayne" Aylward of Pleasant View, aged 74. Wayne was the son of the late Austin and Alma(Donahue) Aylward.

Wayne was the beloved husband of Annette "Nettie"(Profit) Aylward for 52 years, they built their home in Pleasant View, where they raised their 2 lovely girls, Haley and Madeline.

Lovingly remembered by his brothers and sisters, Austie(Theresa Aylward, Phyllis(Freddie) Shea, Florence(late Leo) Malone, Carol Keough, Betty(late Gerard) Ready, Joey(Sharon Horne)(late Peggy) Aylward, David(Marlene) Aylward, Donna(late John) Tomiuck,Brother-in-law Ted(Jeannie) Hinks. Also lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Wayne was predeceased by his parents Austin and Alma(Donahue) Aylward, brother Leonard, sisters Lois(David) Harper, Mary Ellen Hinks,Noreen(Barry) Shead and Jean(J Elmer) Blanchard.

Wayne was a kind, compassionate and comedic man. He had a gift for storytelling and could light up any room with his contagious laugh and warm smile.

He found happiness in the simple things in life , whether it was fishing for a living aboard the Annette A, and the Grey Lady, or fishing for leisure at Black Pond (his chair is always there). Wayne also deeply enjoyed visiting friends and family, often showing up at their door just to share a conversation and a friendly smile.

Wayne had a special bond with animals throughout his life. His family fondly remembers the many dogs and cats who stayed faithfully by his side over the years, each one a reflection of his gentle and caring nature.

A hard working man through and through, Wayne took pride in everything he did, more than anything he valued his family,his girls, Nettie, Haley and Madeline, his friendships and the life he built through love, laughter and dedication.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Resting at West Prince Funeral Home, 522 Thompson Rd.

Visitation will take place on Saturday June 27,2026 from 5:00 to 7:00pm.

The family has asked that memorial donations can be made to the West Prince Funeral Home.
