William Joseph "Billy" Myers
April 29, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William "Billy" Joseph Myers, age 75, at the O'Leary Hospital, PE, on April 29, 2025. Born on December 16, 1949, in Prince Edward Island, Billy lived a life grounded in faith, family, and service to his community.
Billy was no stranger to hard work. He spent much of his life fishing lobster and harvesting Irish moss along the shores he loved. He also worked in construction and served as the devoted caretaker of the Palmer Road Church.
Whether tending his woodlot or lending a hand to neighbours, Billy's strength and generosity never went unnoticed. He found joy in the simple things, company around the kitchen table, a quiet walk through the woods, and time spent with the people he loved.
He was predeceased by his parents, Alyre and Rita Myers; his sister, Karleen Doucette; his mother- and father-in-law, Edward and Delores Gallant; and his brother- and sister-in-law, Barry and Holly Gallant.
Billy leaves behind his beloved wife, Irene Myers (formerly Gallant), and his children: Troy Myers of Summerside, PE, and Melanie Cudmore (formerly Myers) and her husband Jamie Cudmore of Rice Point, PE. He was a proud and loving Grampie to his grandchildren, Karson and Brae Myers.
He is also survived by his sisters: Audrey (Mark) Ellsworth , Claudia (Jimmy) Arsenault, Mary (Donnie) Perry, and Nora (Clarence) Buote. Left to cherish his memory are his in-laws: Wilfred Gallant, Joseph Gallant, Edie & Neil LeClair, and Jerry Gallant.
“He loved his family fiercely, worked faithfully, and gave more than he ever asked for in return.”
