Rodney Bernard McInnis

Rodney died peacefully June 30th in the Palliative Care Unit in O’Leary Hospital at the age of 89. Beloved husband of the late Yolande (Brunel) McInnis.
Rodney was born February 11, 1934 in Tignish PEI to the late Kathleen Handrahan and Maxwell McInnis. He was predeceased by brothers Malcolm and Louis and sisters Mary and Irma.
He is survived by siblings Lorna, Edward, John, Catherine, Claire and Michael.
Rodney will be remembered by his loving daughters Nancy Hamilton, Susan (Roy) McBride, Tricia (Chris) Young, and Janet Gaudette (Sandy). He will also be remembered by his 11 grandchildren, Matthew (Imogen), Jessica, Carter (Michaela), Austin (Katey), Mitchell, Emily, Emma (Peter), Alex, Allison, Maxwell and Jack. He was so proud of his great grandchildren Therin and Archie.
Rodney attended St. Dunstan’s University graduating in 1956. He had a long career in finance and investments. He lived in Montreal, Vancouver and Toronto before moving back to Tignish with his family in 1975. He fished lobsters and raised foxes. But his greatest love was his blueberry farm.
He loved to golf, winning the Mill River Club Championship 8 times between 1977-1997. He was a Life Master of Bridge and dearly missed his bridge partner, the late Ray MacDonald.

He is resting at the West Prince Funeral Home. 522 Thompson Rd
Visitation Monday July 3, 12-2. Funeral mass will follow at St Simon and St Jude Church, Tignish at 3 pm with Father Molina, celebrant. Interment in the Church Cemetery.
