After a courageous battle with cancer at the Palliative Care Unit of Community Hospital, O’Leary surrounded by family and loved ones on July 4th, 2022, Monique “Doucette” Thibodeau was peacefully taken home by the angels. Monique was the beloved wife and soul mate to Wade Thibodeau of St. Edwards. Born on May 19, 1971 in Pleasant View, she was the youngest daughter of the late Freddie and Joan (nee Gallant) Doucette. Cherished daughter- in- law to Roy and Dorothy Thibodeau of St. Edwards.
Loving mother to Madelyn Doucette, Summerside, Craig Thibodeau, St. Louis and Chasity (Ryan) Veno, Bloomfield. She will be sadly missed by her granddaughter Chloe Veno and her faithful companion Sandy who was known as her chemo puppy.
Left to mourn are many brothers and sisters; Denise (Wade) Robinson, Searletown, loving brother Derek Doucette, San Diego California, who’s presence is greatly missed, Carolyn (Hans) Wicki Doucette, Nine Mile Creek, Carl (Heather) Doucette, Pleasant View, Ricky (Susan) Thibodeau, St. Edwards, Joe (Lorainne) Thibodeau, St. Edwards, Steven (Dawn) Thibodeau, St. Edwards and Amanda (Jeff) Thibodeau, Mount Herbert.
Also left to grieve are many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and special friends. Monique will be sadly missed by staff and colleagues of Westisle Composite High School, St. Louis Elementary, and Ecole Peirre Chiasson, as well as many friends and co-workers from the Public Schools Branch, the Commission Scolaire de Langue Francaise, The PEI Counsellors Association, the PEI Teaches Federation, as well as the Department of Education and Lifelong Learning.
Monique was predeceased by her parents Freddie and Joan, and her brother Louis Doucette.
Resting at the West Prince Funeral Home, 522 Thompson Road, Palmer Road. Visiting hours for family and invited guests.
Everyone is invited to attend the funeral at the Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road, on Thursday, July 7, 2022, at 4:00 pm. Celebrant Rev. Lazaru Panthagani.
Interment in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy and donations can be made directly to Camp Triumph at (www.camptriumph.ca), a camp for children who have suffered traumatic illness or loss, would be greatly appreciated. Helping children was Monique’s lifelong passion.
