The death occurred at the Western Hospital, Alberton on Saturday, February 10, 2007 of Melvin Bernard of Pleasant View aged 75 years. Beloved husband of Theresa Bernard of Pleasant View. He was born in DeBlois on June 20, 1931 to his parents the late Basil and Fidelis (Arsenault) Bernard. Dear father to Charles (Lorna), Pleasant View; Elaine (Paul) Waite, Cascumpec; Andrew (Donna), Drayton Valley, Alberta; Marlene (Gerald) Chaisson, Pleasant View; Frances (Steve) Paterson, Toronto, Ont.; Sandra (Chad) Keough, Pleasant View; Donnie, Drayton Valley, Alberta and Jason (Crystal), Drayton Valley, Alberta. Brother to Leona Miller, N.S.; Del (Bernard) Bernard, Pleasant View; Austin, Palmer Road; Vincent (Sheila), Palmer Road; Leonard (Steve Ann), Palmer Road; Delia LeLiever, Barbara Ann Aucoin (Moe) and Velda (Ted) Church all of Nova Scotia. Loving grandfather to 15 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Basil and Fidelis, son Ronnie and 1 son and 2 daughters in infancy, brothers Johnny, Henry, Raymond and William and a sister Mae. Resting at the West Prince Funeral Home, Palmer Road for visiting hours Monday 2-4 & 7-9 pm and Tuesday from 9-10 am. Funeral will be held Tuesday at the Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road at 10:30 am. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society, Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
