Mary P. Pitre

The death occurred at the Western Hospital, Alberton on Tuesday April 23, 2013 surrounded by her family of Mary Pitre of Tignish Senior Home Care Co-op aged 98 years. Wife of the late Jerry Pitre.

She was born in Tignish on Sept. 9, 1914, the daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (nee Jones) Perry.

Loving mother to Lloyd Pitre, Tignish; Bertha (Dennis) Pitre, St. Felix; Emily (Vernon) Chowen, Charlottetown; Oswald Pitre, Bloomfield; Theresa (Maurice) Martin, Charlottetown; Emile (Helene) Pitre, Tignish Shore; Angela DesRoches, St. Felix; Joe Pitre, Charlottetown; Shirley (Seymour) DesRoches, St. Felix; Francis (Nicole), Tignish and Barbara (Dale) Gaudette, St. Felix. She is also survived by daughter-in-law Doreen Peters.

Dear grandmother to 23 grandchildren 30 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents Thomas and Elizabeth, husband Jerry, son Cecil, brothers Willie, Emile, Fred (Alice), Arthur (Rosie), sister Rosella (Arthur), grandchild Adam Pitre and 2 children in infancy.

Resting at the West Prince Funeral Home, 522 Thompson Road for visiting hours Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and Friday from 9 - 9:45 a.m.

Funeral will be held Friday April 26, 2013 at St. Simon & St. Jude Church, Tignish with funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. celebrant Rev. Brandon Gallant.

Interment in the church cemetery.
