Marie Alma Gillis

The death occurred at the Western Hospital, Alberton on Wednesday February 21, 2007 of Marie Alma Gillis of Kildare Capes and formerly of Summerside aged 88 years. Wife of the late Ernie Gillis. She was born in Deblois on Sept. 6, 1918 to Alphie and Matilda (Chaisson) Perry. Dear mother to Roger Gillis with whom she resided in Kildare Capes and James (Eleanor) Gillis, Dartmouth, N.S. Loving grandmother to Lisa (Sean) O'Regan, Sean and Micheal Gillis all of Dartmouth, N.S. and great grandmother to Daniel O'Regan. She is also survived by her sister Yvonne Knox-McAllister, Dartmouth , N.S. and a brother Albert (Lucy) Perry of DeBlois, numerous nieces and nephews and her pet dog Sasha. She was predeceased by her parents Alphie and Matilda and her husband Ernie. Resting at the West Prince Funeral Home, Palmer Road for visiting hours Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 pm and Friday from 12:30 - 1:30 pm. Funeral will be held Friday at St. Simon & St. Jude Church, Tignish at 2 pm. Interment at a later date in the church cemetery. Memorial donations to the Western Hospital Equipment Fund would be greatly appreciated.
