Louis Charles Gallant

The death occurred peacefully at Community Hospital O'Leary, with his family by his side, of Louis Charles Gallant, 87, of Nail Pond, Prince Edward Island, beloved husband of Cornelia (nee Christopher) Gallant.

Born in Nail Pond on March 18, 1937, Louis was the son of the late Joseph E. and Veronica (nee Bernard) Gallant.

In his youth, Louis moved to Montreal for job opportunities, but after 40 years he retired to his beloved Island.

Loving father to Kimberley Rowland of Boston, Sandra Gallant (Donato Totaro) of Montreal, and the late Christopher Gallant. Cherished Granddad to Joseph, Anna and Liam Rowland, and Matteo Totaro.

He is survived by brothers Austin (Marcie) of Skinners Pond, Vincent (Anna) of Blaine, Washington, and Lawrence (Benilda) of Vancouver, BC.

Louis was predeceased by his brother Francis Gallant, and his sisters Bernice (Danny) Christopher and Joan (Freddie) Doucette.

Louis is fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Maplewood Manor for their tender care of Louis.

Resting at the West Prince Funeral Home, 522 Thompson Road.

No visitation per family request.

Funeral will be held Saturday September 14th at 10:30am at St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish,with funeral mass, Rev. Greg Conway, celebrant.

Interment in the church cemetery following the Mass.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Louis' memory to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
