The death occurred at the Western Hospital, Alberton on March 13, 2010 of Loretta Doucette of Maplewood Manor, Alberton and formerly of DeBlois aged 90 years. Beloved wife of 71 years to Leo H. Doucette, Tignish Seniors Home Care Co-op.
She was born in DeBlois on April 12, 1919, the daughter of the late John and Emily (Arsenault) Richard.
Loving mother to Julia (Clifford) Bernard, Tignish; Gilbert (Helen) Doucette, Charlottetown; Wilbert (Theresa) Doucette, Alberton; Florence Ann/Nan (Alvin) Pitre, Tignish Shore; Deborah/Malu (John) Gaudet, Tignish.
Cherished grandmother to 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Dear sister to Leo (Beulah) Richard, Moncton and sister-in-law of Lorette Richard, St.Louis and Theresa and Deloris.
She was predeceased by her parents John and Emily, sons and daughter Wilbert, Jimmy, Hector, Thelma and Aubrey, granddaughter Thelma Pitre, brothers and sister Freddie, Mae, Edward (Boy), Tony and Jimmy and a half sister Alice Perry.
Resting at the West Prince Funeral Home, Palmer Road for visiting hours Monday 2-4 & 7-9 pm and Tuesday from 1-2:30 pm.
Funeral will be held Tuesday at the Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road with funeral mass at 3 pm.
Memorial donations to the Tignish Seniors Home Care Co-op would be greatly appreciated.
Interment to take place at a later date.
