The death occurred peacefully with family by his side at the Margaret Stewart Ellis Home on Thursday May 30th,2024 of Leroy J. Doucette, of Deblois aged 87.
Lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his wife of 66 years Mary "Kathleen" (Gaudet) Doucette.
Leroy was born in Deblois to the late Alphy and Marguerite(Allain) Doucette.
Loving father to Elaine(The late Patrick)Gaudet, the late Norman, Nelson(Paulette), Douglas(Karen) and Glen(Brandi)
also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Sarah, Katie, Amberly, Marie, Cameron, Nicholas, Emily and Courtney and great-granddaughter Luna.
Dear brother to Helen McKenna, Eileen(Roger)Connor and Joan(Jim)Doucette.
Also remembered by his brothers and sister in laws, Austin(Velda)Gaudet, Shirley Pitre, Austena Doucette, Doreen(Claude)Robichault, Debbie(Henry)Chaisson, Leonard(Audrey)Gaudet, Theresa(Norman)Legere, Ron Legere,and Ann(Rick)Walsh and Brenda Doucette and Cyrus Bernard.
He was pre-deceased by his parents Alphy and Margurite, sisters Edna, twins Ida and Velda and brothers Ivan and Dennis. Also by brothers in law Roy, and Nelson and sisters in law Sandra, Velda, Eunice, Auldine, Irene
Leroy was well known in the community as he was the caretaker at Immaculate Conception Church, in Palmer Road for 45 years, he also worked as a funeral Director at West Prince Funeral Home for many of those years. Leroy was also active in the Knights of Columbus where he was a 4th degree Knight.
Resting at the West Prince Funeral Home, 522 Thompson Rd.
Visitation will be Tuesday June 4th from 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
Funeral will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church , Palmer Rd on Wednesday June 5th at 3:00 pm. Interment in the church Cemetery.
Officiant is Fr. Lazaru.
