On Saturday April 22, 2023 ,Joseph William Shea, beloved husband of Jean (Mary Regina Gaudet) Shea passed away at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital ,Charlottetown PEI aged 90 years

Born in Palmer Road, he was the son of the late John William Shea and Annie Jane Kenny.

Loving father of Hilary(Jenny)Shea, Fortune Cove, Twila(Phalen)McCarthy, Alberton and Patrick Shea ,Mississauga.

He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Rhonda(Stuart)Baker, James(Allison) Shea, , Jade(Jake)McCarthy, Shealee(Ryan)McCarthy and Brock McCarthy and his great-grandchildren Abigail Shea and William Shea.

He is survived by his siblings, Freddie(Phyllis) Shea, Theresa(Austin)Aylward and Janie(Derek) Dyment. Also Survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, Angela(Dennis) Gaudet, Austin(Melvina) McLellan, Keir MacDonald and Barbara Gaudet.

Pre deceased by brothers and sisters-in-law, Marie Griffin(husbands Wilfred Griffin and Richard Murphy) Irma (Malcom) Skerry, Carl(Marie)Gaudet, Gloria McLellan, Rose MacDonald, and Joseph Gaudet.

Joseph was a fisherman for most of his life(1958-1997) .He was a member of Tignish Fisheries Co-op, now known as Royal Star Fisheries. Prior to that he worked for Myricks, in Halifax delivering furniture. He also drove the snow plow for Gerard Gallant. After retirement he and Jean enjoyed spending their winters in the warm south visiting friends and playing golf.

Joseph was a devoted husband, loving and supportive father and a good friend. He enjoyed family and friends. He was kind and generous with a great Irish wit. He loved a good chat, reminiscing and sharing funny stories.

Resting at the West Prince Funeral Co-op, 522 Thompson Rd. for visitation on Wednesday April 26th, from 6-9. Funeral To be held at Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road on Thursday April 27th at 10:30 am. Officiant is Fr Lazaru .
