Peacefully at the Margaret Stewart Ellis Home, O’Leary on Tuesday December 19, 2017 of Henry J. Richard formerly of St. Peter & St. Paul and Tignish Senior Home Care Co-op aged 97 years.
He was born in Tignish on July 15, 1920, the son of the late Joseph and Mary Blanche Poirier/Perry Richard.
He is survived by special niece Bernice Gallant, brother Sylvain (Sophie) Richard, Summerside, sister Frances Richard, St. Peter & St. Paul, stepsons Jimmy (late Audrey) Doucette, Gerard (Bonnie) Doucette and sister-in-law Ann Marie Richard, St. Peter & St. Paul as well as numerous step grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Margarite (Doucette) Richard, step-daughter Doris Doucette, brother Alyre Richard, sisters Irene Richard, Viola Perry and Mary Ann Bernard.
Resting at the West Prince Funeral Home 522 Thompson Road for visiting hours Wednesday 6-9 PM and Thursday from 12:30- 1:30 PM.
Funeral will be held at St. Simon & St. Jude Church, Tignish on Thursday December 21, 2017 with funeral mass at 2PM. Celebrant Rev. Brendan Gallant.
Memorial donations to St. Simon & St. Jude Cemetery Fund would be greatly appreciated.
Interment in the church cemetery.
