Gilles (Bernie) J. Bernard

The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Tuesday November 6, 2012 of Gilles (Bernie) Bernard, Pleasant View aged 75 years. He served 30 years in the Canadian Navy.

Beloved husband of Delima Bernard.

Bernie was born in Quebec, on October 25, 1937, the son of the late Leonard and Theresa (Plante) Bernard.

Besides his wife Delima, he is survived by a daughter Dianne Bernard (David) of Dartmouth, N.S.

Brother to Jeannet (Johnny) Beck, Oakville, Ont., Gerard (Francoise), Gaston (Louise) and Marcel all from Montreal, Que.

He is also survived by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Leona Miller, (Donnie), Delia LeLievre, Barb Aucoin, (Moe), Velda Church, (Ted) all of Nova Scotia, Austin and Vincent Bernard from Palmer Road and numerous nieces and nephews from Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia and PEI.

Resting at the West Prince Funeral Home, 522 Thompson Road for visitation Friday morning from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m.

Funeral will be held Friday at the Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road with funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Jacques Rigaud, celebrant.

Memorial donations to the Immaculate Conception Parish Cemetery Fund would be greatly appreciated.

Tignish Legion Members will hold a remembrance service Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
