Esther G. Ahearn

The death occurred at the Maplewood Manor, Alberton on Saturday, February 14, 2009 of Esther Ahearn of Maplewood Manor aged 96 years. She retired from Northern Electric in Montreal after working for 30 years in December 18, 1972.

Born in Greenmount on April 19, 1912, she was the last surviving family member of the late Nicholas and Elizabeth (Ryan) Ahearn. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, sister-in-law Jean Ellsworth, Tignish and a special cousin Marie Gaudette, Tignish. She was predeceased by her parents Nicholas and Elizabeth, sisters Mary Noble, Doris Vokey, brothers John "Bernie", Russell. Resting at the West Prince Funeral Home, Palmer Road for private family visitation Monday, Feb. 16, 2009 from 6-9 pm. Funeral will be held Tuesday at St. Simon & St. Jude Church, Tignish with funeral mass at 10:30 am. Memorial donations to the Maplewood Manor, Alberton would be greatly appreciated. Interment will take place at a later date in the church cemetery.
