Brenda Patricia Doucette
February 2, 2026

With heavy hearts, the family of Brenda P. Doucette (nee Harper), announce her passing on Monday, February 02, 2026, aged 75.
Brenda passed away peacefully at her second home with her daughter Connie (Paul), who had been caring for her over the past 3 months.
Cherished mother to Darryl (Lisa, nee Shea), Deblois; Connie (Paul Peters), North Granville; & Cindy (Neal) Rushton, Miscouche. Loving grandmother to Carter (Kenzie) & Alyssa (Brandon); great grandmother to Holden & Hudson; and fur-mom to her loyal fur babies and protectors, Lady & Jack.
Born in Tignish on March 17, 1950, to parents (late) Reginald & Patricia Harper (nee Profit), she was part of a loving family who were always there for each other. Dear sister to Colleen (late Victor) Gaudet; Ed (Marion); Charlene (Russell) Gaudet; Melita (late Aubrey) Chaisson; (late) Wendall; Tommy (Jean); Reg (Debbie); Irene (Donald) Phillips; Ruby (Darryl) Pitre; Anne Arsenault.
Moving to Palmer Road in 1969 to create her own family with her beloved husband, (late) Dennis Doucette, they built a life together filled with love and laughter. Over the years Brenda held many working roles including cashier at a local grocery store and Grade Inspector with TIR. She and Dennis also started their own business making cement lawn ornaments that drew people from all over North America. Doucette's Lawn Ornaments was a labor of love and it showed through her attention to detail and determination.
She will forever be remembered for her love of all things family, cooking all the meals they loved to eat, dancing and singing in the kitchen while baking her bread; her pride in whatever she decided to plant in the garden each year; and her ability to communicate through her fur babies the real deal behind whatever story is being told. She was loving, caring, feisty, protective, smart, uncomplicated, stubborn, funny, and so much more to so many, but she was most importantly the best mom ever. She will be missed dearly.
The family would like to thank Joan Toole, whose kindness in Brenda's last weeks will never be forgotten, staff within Health PEI Home Care for their kindness, humanity, & knowledge and staff at PCH within Oncology and Emergency.
No visitation by personal request.
Funeral mass to be held on Monday, February 09, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Rd. Interment will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Brenda to the Immaculate Conception Palmer Rd Cemetery Fund or to the PEI Humane Society.
