Augustin "Gus" Bernard

The death occurred peacefully at the Western Hospital, Alberton on Tuesday April 5, 2022 surrounded by family, of Augustin “ Gus” Bernard, Harper Road aged 98 years.

Beloved husband of 71 years to Lena (Chaisson) Bernard.

He was born in Harper Road on December 24, 1923, the son of the late Joe and Judith (Perry) Bernard.

Dear father to Ronnie Bernard, John Bernard, Lorenda Gavin (Vernon), Maureen Hyson (Paul), Roy Bernard (Kim).

Cherished grandfather to Melissa, Jennifer, Lisa, Rochelle, Monique, Kristian, Matthew, Laura, Brittany, Kaitlyn, Vicky and great grandfather to 17 great grandchildren.

He is also survived by sister Evelyn Furlong and brother Benny Bernard and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by son Robert, grandson Robbie, sisters Ann, Mary, Edna, brothers Fred, Tim, Phil, Larry and Ed.

Resting at the West Prince Funeral Home, 522 Thompson Road, Palmer Road. Visiting hours Friday 6 -9 p.m. Funeral will be held Saturday April 9, 2022 at St. Simon & St. Jude Church, Tignish with funeral mass at 10:30 a.m.

Memorial donations to St. Simon & St. Jude Church Restoration Fund would be greatly appreciated.

Interment will take place at a later date in the church cemetery.
